Additional Information

The members of the Gloucester 210 Fleet and Eastern Point Yacht Club are excited to be hosting the 210 Nationals for the 4th time.  Those class members who recall the sailing and social activities in 1985, 1993, and more recently at the New Englands in 2010, know that Gloucester offers quick access to ocean conditions and a beautiful setting for enjoying post-race cocktails.  Those class members who recall all of this from the 1950 Nationals, God bless you!

Launching-  Eastern Point Yacht Club does not have a dry sailing facility.  The Championship Committee will arrange- most likely with Rose’s Marine in downtown Gloucester- for the launching and hauling of boats.  There will be a fee for this service and you must contact Butch Roth (applewood@gis.net and 978.884.4154) in advance.  If we don’t hear from you by the Friday before the regatta, we can’t guarantee you’ll be in the water to race.

Moorings-  Some rafting may be necessary.  The club launch system monitors VHF 71.  You must call the club (978.283.3520) if you plan to arrive prior to Sunday the 1st and if you will be bringing a motor boat.

Social Events-  The tentative social calendar is as follows:

Sunday after the practice race there will be hors ‘d’oeuvres and a cash bar available.  We encourage everyone to stick around at the club, enjoy a drink, and dine at the club (on a space-available basis, so please make a reservation if you know you want to do this).

Monday morning during registration there will be coffee and pastries (the rest of the week only coffee will be available).  After racing, we will head downtown to the Cape Ann Brewery, which is sponsoring the regatta, where we will receive a guided tour of the brewery then dinner and beer.

Tuesday night is a free night for you to try Gloucester’s restaurants.  Ask us for a long list of suggestions.

Wednesday after racing we will go to the beach that you pass immediately before the club, or the Bopper’s house if the weather is inclement, for a cookout with meat from Butch Milan and beer flowing from the Cape Ann Brewery truck.

Thursday after racing through the awards there will be chowder and cookies and a cash bar at the club.

Boxed lunches will be available from the snack bar every day, but you will need to order the night before.

Housing-  Provided enough notice, we will be able to put everyone up in private homes.
